Member for Bogia, Robert Naguri, in his speech after the swearing in as a member of the Provincial Assembly, challenged the Madang governor, Ramsey Pariwa and Member for Madang, Bryan Kramer to work together to find ways to address the ongoing issues of law and order in Madang town.
Member Naguri says, Madang town is the face and nose of the province, however it is said that the indigenous people of Madang are afraid of walking around and doing businesses in their own provincial town.
“It is not the rural folks from Rai Coast, Bogia or Middle Ramu who go about doing pick pocketing and bag snatching in Madang town but those who are residing especially in and around the settlement areas of Madang town.”
This was one of the issues highlighted by the member for Bogia amongst other concerns raised by other members of the provincial assembly during the swearing in ceremony of the four Madang MPs and the fifteen LLG presidents.
Furthermore Member Naguri says he accepted the invitation by the Madang governor, Ramsey Pariwa to be a member of the provincial assembly and to contribute his ideas to resurrect Madang Province.
