Papa Health and Resident Clinic in Hiri- Koiari in Central Province was the recipient of several essential medical items to support its service to the people thanks to Kina Bank.
The items include a 9,500 Litre water tank, an obstetric delivery bed, blood pressure monitors, thermometers, weight scales, wheelie bins, and body infrared thermometers from Kina Bank, who generously donated fulfilling their Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.
Kina Bank’s General Manager Support Services Samuel Kovea, presented the donation to Dr Newman Uloulo, the National Health Director for Salvation Army Health Service.
The event was attended by Papa Health Post staff including representatives from The Salvation Army, Papa village Leaders including the village Chief and Kina Bank staff, attended the event.
Mr. Kovea stressed the significance of health facilities in enhancing and sustaining public health.
“Health facilities are crucial for the overall wellbeing of our communities.”
“We are pleased that the medical equipment will benefit Papa and the surrounding villages.”
Dr Newman Uloulo highlighted the significance of the donation, noting that the Papa Health Post serves over 7,000 people from Papa, Lealea, Bogi, Boera and Porebada and external catchment areas such as Manumanu, Kouderika, and Baruni.
He expressed his thanks for the partnership.
“The government cannot do it alone. It is vital to work with partners like Kina Bank to deliver essential health services.”
“The additional delivery bed is a relief for our staff, increasing our capacity to assist women in delivering safely.”
Zarrah Kihi, Officer in Charge of Papa Health Post, echoed similar thoughts, recognizing the difficulties encountered in obtaining medical supplies over the years.

Papa village Chief Nao Nao also expressed his appreciation, stating that health services are a need in the community.
“This donation means we do not need to go into Port Moresby city to access basic health services. Thank you, Kina Bank, for recognizing our need and funding vital equipment for our health post.”
The Papa Health Post is a level 2 health facility that provides essential outpatient services, and the donation from Kina Bank’s Support Services team significantly improves the quality of healthcare provided.
