Papua New Guinea reported 59 new cases of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Friday 19th increasing the country’s total cases to 1,029. The latest cases were reported in Western Province, West Sepik and in the National Capital District. Of the 47 total cases reported in Western Province, 37 are male, nine female and one unknown. The youngest of the 47 cases was 11-year-old whilst the oldest was 53. Forty-three of the 47 cases showed symptoms of COVID-19 virus whilst four did not show symptoms at the time of testing. Prime Minister James Marape signed a sports partnership agreement on rugby league with Australia.
