63 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the last 24 hrs increasing the country’s total cases to 1,492. Deaths stand at 16 with 2 recent COVID-19 related deaths reported this week. The latest cases were reported are Morobe province, West Sepik, East Sepik, Western Province and in the National Capital District. NCD reported the highest with 44 cases yesterday. Five fire trucks donated by the Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) were presented to the PNG Fire Service (PNGFS) to boost their local firefighting efforts. The five refurbished vehicles are equipped to carry 1800 litres of firefighting water and are provided with a comprehensive inventory of firefighting equipment, making these trucks valuable assets to the PNGFS.
