Papua New Guinea has recorded 69 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours ending 12 midday on Friday June 4, increasing the total number of cases to 16,327. The cases were reported in eight provinces with Manus reporting the highest of 19 cases. Milne Bay reported 18 cases, New Ireland 15 cases, Madang eight cases, Morobe four, East New Britain and National Capital District two cases each and West Sepik a single case. In commemorating World Environment Day, National Superannuation Fund Limited (Nasfund) has begun on an initiative aimed at restoring the environment. Papua New Guinea has recorded 73 new COVID-19 cases last week, increasing the total number of cases to 16,258. The PNG death toll has also increased to 164 with two deaths recorded for the same period, one each in the National Capital District and the Eastern Highlands Province. Today Nambawan Super Limited (NSL) and the Department of Lands and Physical Planning signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will secure NSL’s lease for Portion 2158, at 9 Mile.
