Wawin National School of Excellence in Morobe is calling on relevant authorities to intervene and assess several damages caused by the recent massive earthquake and determine if the buildings are fit for use by students. The recent 7.6 magnitude earthquake hit Morobe, Madang and parts of the Highlands Region and was even felt in other provinces on Sunday morning. Buimo Correctional Services (CS) now has a tailoring shop inside its campus in Lae. The shop was funded by Correctional Services through its social services department. Morobe Provincial Government is calling on all the school principles and board chairmen to make it their business to submit acquittal reports of K12 million funding being disbursed to implement building infrastructure projects. A good number of students attending four secondary schools in Lae city missed out on sitting for their Written Expression National Examination on Monday after election related fights in the community prevented them from going to school.
