The Australian Prime Ministers XIII continue their run of victory against rival PNG following a 30-18 victory following a final try to fullback Tyrell Sloan.
The Aussies were pushed to the limit by the opposition in a tight affair which had everyone at the Santos National Football Stadium on their feet.
The home side took the lead early through a Nene Macdonald try in the 4th minute after the Australians fumbled the ball in goal.
The visitors hit back through Murray Taulagi a few minutes later.
Although they have the lead it has been a pretty ordinary performance as the home side asserted dominance through the middle third.
With Just 6 points separating both teams in the first half, the Australian PM’s XIII had their noses in-front in a following a late try by Hudson Young.
Cruise Ten leveled the scores 6 minutes into the second half but errors by PNG took a toll on the home side letting the visitors back in when a Alofina Khan-Perreira Caught the defense of guard and scored of the back of a scrum in the 58th minute.
Cameron McInnes would stroll over in the 61st, running through fatigued defense bringing the scores to 24-12.
PNG through their relentless attack brought themselves within 6 points in the 70th minute but were outdone by themselves when a loose ball saw Tyrell Sloan pick off the scraps and add 6 more points, bringing the match to a halt.
The final score saw Australia scrap through defeating the PNG PM’s XIII 30-18.
