WR Carpenters (PNG) Group of Companies has reaffirmed its commitment to the development of rugby league in Papua New Guinea with the donation of a Mitsubishi FUSO ROSA 30-seater bus to the Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League (PNGRFL).
The vehicle, presented today in Port Moresby, is part of WR Carpenters’ ongoing 5-year partnership agreement with PNGRFL. The collaboration includes contributions from its group subsidiaries: Boroko Motors, Daltron, and Courts.
The bus, which is currently available at Boroko Motors, will join the existing PNGRFL vehicle fleet — also supplied under the partnership — and will support the League’s daily operations and nationwide grassroots initiatives.
PNGRFL Chairman Sandis Tsaka acknowledged the vital role WR Carpenters (PNG) and Boroko Motors continue to play in supporting the operational logistics of rugby league across the country.
“Boroko Motors, through this partnership, is literally the wheels that keep our National Rugby Competition moving,” Tsaka said. “This support allows our Community Rugby League Department to service local leagues throughout our three regional offices and headquarters in Port Moresby.”
He emphasized that the impact of the partnership extends far beyond branding and financial value.
“This partnership enables us to connect with grassroots competitions and national programs, and to uplift the lives of those involved in rugby league across PNG. On behalf of PNGRFL management and the Board, we thank WR Carpenters (PNG) for helping us fulfill our mandate as the governing body of the sport.”
Boroko Motors General Manager, Liza Marie-Brooks, echoed the company’s pride in contributing to rugby league development.
“At Boroko Motors, we’re proud to support the growth of rugby league in Papua New Guinea. This 30-seater bus is more than just a vehicle — it’s a symbol of our commitment to empowering communities, enabling access, and driving nationwide development through sport,” she said.
The newly donated bus will be used by PNGRFL headquarters in Port Moresby to facilitate transport needs for both administration and rugby development programs.
The WR Carpenters (PNG) and PNGRFL partnership continues to serve as a model for how corporate-community collaboration can foster national pride, unity, and grassroots development through sport.
