Police in West New Britain are appealing to parents to pay close attention to their children’s whereabouts following the recent killing of a youth near the Kumbango Plantation, who has been confirmed to be the son of WNB’s Deputy Governor.
It is believed that the deceased was in the area near the end of the Kumbango Plantation with two close friends who were lucky enough to escape when they were set upon by an unknown number of attackers on Saturday afternoon.
WNB Provincial Police Commander Chief Inspector Januarius Vosivai is now calling on individuals who may have any information to this incident to come forward and assist police to help identify possible suspects.
Police have yet to also attain statements from the two other victims who are believed to have gone into hiding in fear of their safety.
Chief Inspector Vosivai further appealed to youths to avoid frequenting areas which are known to not be safe, such as crime hot spots, during the weekends and to travel in groups when moving around.
