The Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary (RPNGC) will be in co-operations in the Special Audit of the Connect PNG Infrastructure Programme.
The Acting Chief Secretary to Government Ivan Pomaleu proudly expressed this announcement in a statement today, following his initial call.
The RPNGC is the first government entity to respond to Mr. Pomaleu’s initiative for collaboration, which he made on February 25th during the signing of agreements between Papua New Guinea, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, and Norths Projects Ltd.
Auditing the Connect PNG Infrastructure Programme is vital for transparency, accountability, and proper fund usage. Police play a key role by ensuring security, protecting personnel, preventing interference, maintaining order, enforcing compliance, deterring corruption, and safeguarding infrastructure during the audit.
He further added that with the addition of the RPNGC in the National Team for the Special Audit, the people of Papua New Guinea can be assured of a fair, transparent, and effective assessment of the implementation of the program. The involvement of RPNGC ensures safety, compliance, and integrity, ultimately contributing to good governance and accountability in infrastructure development.
