Making his debut in front of his mother, big brother, relatives and PNG rugby league fanatics at the Santos National Football Stadium on Sunday, Judah Rimbu said it is a great blessing to wear the Kumul jersey and represent his home land.
Rimbu said, with instructions from Coach Holbrook to not stress and just do his job on the field, the young bloke did what he did and displayed a tremendous set of footy in in front of a cheerful crowd.
“It’s an honor for me to debut in front of my family.”
“I’m just so grateful that I made my debut and we got a win as well.”
He said, before he even put the jersey on, he got chills running through his skin and already had the extra energy from just hearing the news.
“Running out in front of my home crowd gave me that extra energy and boost to help my boys and work as team to get that win.”
Rimbu added that if he gets a call up for their next match, he will need to work hard and improve on somethings before their clash against Fiji, especially to attempt to put a try.
“I wanted to score a try but was disallowed for the 2 tries.”
“But hopefully next time when coach gives me an opening to play with Fiji.”
Rambu is also calling out to all young talented boys and girls to work hard kif they want to see their dreams come through.
“If you have to sacrifice, you have to.”
“If you have to let go of your friends to get to where you want to be, you have to make that move.”
“Just keep your head down and work hard.”
“Dreams are free!”
