Prime Minister James Marape received his second dose of the AstraZeneca Vaccine
“I was the first person to receive the AstraZeneca vaccine so I am now going to receive my second dose.”
“The Governor General and the rest of my cohorts that received the 1st dose with me will be receiving their second dose of the Vaccine tomorrow and in the coming days.”
“I’m not forcing them to take the vaccine, it’s their choice.”
PM Marape said that it has been 443 days since the first COVID-19 case was recorded in the country and 358 days since the Niupla Pasin was put into place by the Pandemic controller.
He added that the vaccine roll out has been successful so far with the frontliners and essential staff receiving the vaccine so far.
He is hoping to get over 1 million Papua New Guineans to receive the AstraZeneca Vaccine.
He further added that there are currently over 100, 000 Vaccines in storage and available for people to get the vaccine.
He encouraged everyone to get the vaccine and assured the public that there are no serious side effects of the AstraZeneca Vaccine. Only a small percentage of people around the world have reported serious side effects such as blood clots.
Meanwhile, The Pandemic Controller and Police Commissioner, David Manning also received his second dose of the AstraZeneca Vaccine.
