In a creative twist for Valentine’s Day, Port Moresby Nature Park revealed its latest campaign: “Name a Cockroach after Your Ex,” an initiative which aims to transform heartache into a meaningful contribution to wildlife conservation.
For a fee of K5.00, participants can remember someone who has made a significant impact in their lives—be it an ex-partner, a frenemy, or even themselves—by naming a cockroach and have their names displayed on a wall.
This light-hearted campaign not only provides a unique humorous way to cope with lost relationships but also supports the park’s wildlife.
The funds raised will directly benefit the park’s conservation, educational, and research efforts, all dedicated to safeguarding the habitats of Nature Park’s flora and fauna.
Additionally, businesses are encouraged to join the fun by naming a cockroach after a competitor, adding a playful element to professional rivalries.
It’s a chance to showcase a sense of humour while contributing to a worthy cause.
Each participant will receive a certificate of support and will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a basket filled with assorted goodies, including a pack of Queen Emma Chocolates, generously provided by Paradise Foods Limited.
