At the 2021 Employer and Member Conference, Nambawan Super outlined new technology
being introduced making it easy for Employers to remit Member contributions using digital
technology.
Mr. Chris Mota, Manager Employer Relations, presenting during the 2021 Nambawan Employer and Member Conference, provided an update on current Employer initiatives of 2020, a major one being the Nambawan Employer Pay.
“The Nambawan Employer pay is a new online payment portal system for employers and the
fund to remit contributions and employer listings.”
“This is a solution to the current manual contributions and reconciliation process in practice
between the fund and our employers.”
The main benefit for members is that their accounts can be updated on time.
CEO Paul Sayer said the fund has also taken the investment into other activities to improve that
service to members.
“With the Nambawan Employer Pay, we’re aiming to make things easier for our employers to
remit their contributions to the fund, and in that way, members are able to get their funds
allocated into their accounts efficiently and effectively.”
The portal is currently being trialed by 12 companies including Nambawan Super’s own payroll
team. Of these 12 companies, so far 8 are successfully using the portal.
Currently, the Nambawan Employer Relations team has covered only 3% of all contributing
companies to the fund, which means they have a massive task ahead in bringing in 300
companies.
Nambawan expects to go live in the 4th quarter of 2021 and an operational plan will be
circulated to the employers.
As part of the ongoing trial, NSL will ensure that appropriate training and assistance is provided
to employers and staff so the process of introducing this change is as smooth as possible.
