Buk bilong Pikinini (BbP) commemorated Literacy Week (2-6 September) at all of its PNG Library Learning Centres.
For 5-year-old pupils, BbP Literacy Week incorporates cultural literacy, financial literacy, and real-life play-based learning activities.
ExxonMobil PNG funded the week, with additional help from fantastic partners.
This year, a new Nutrition Education program was launched with sponsorship from Trukai Industries.
BbP welcomed the release of two new books: “Tru & Kai Unlock the Secret Powers of Superfoods,” “PNG Nutrition Guide and Activity Book for Teachers, Students, and Families,” and a Parent’s Guide to Child Nutrition.
The Nutrition campaign also includes an important health awareness campaign, provided in conjunction with CPL nurses and doctors.
The week culminated in a vibrant Literacy Week Market Day at BbP’s Library Learning Centers across Papua New Guinea, where the children took charge and played their way to great new skills.
