Over 17,000 Grade 12 students from secondary schools and national high schools nationwide will miss out on placings at tertiary institutions for 2021. Only 9,371 grade 12 students have been selected and are eligible to proceed onto tertiary institutions out of 27, 143 students that sat for the National Grade 12 examination for 2020. In total, 17,772 students have been denied a space, a slight drop from last years figures of 18, 318. Parliament has again been adjourned to the 20th of April 2020 at 2pm in today’s sitting. The much-anticipated Vote of No Confidence did not take place as 18 Members of Parliament crossed the floor from Opposition and returned to the Marape-led Government side of the floor. Today’s session covered the reading and passing of the 2021 National Budget for the second time. The Opposition was not given a chance to respond to the 2021 National Budget. Meanwhile, the Opposition camp is now in a meeting and Government is expected to address media in a conference at Loloata Resort later today.

Results came online as of 11:00am today after Education Secretary Dr Uke Kombra officially launched results from the Gateway Hotel in Port Moresby.
