A group of women and girls foraging for wild fruits were abducted by armed men in separate incidents in Burkina Faso, the government said Monday. Around 50 women and girls were taken in the incidents which happened on January 12 and 13 respectively, according to a statement by the governor of the country’s Sahel region. Members of Gerehu police station uprooted seven huge marijuana plants near a school classroom at Tete Settlement in Port Moresby on Monday 16th January at around 5pm. The illicit plants were found at the far end of a school classroom. It was planted in a small vegetable garden amongst other edible crops such as cassava, banana and leafy vegetables. Members of Gerehu police numbering over five were involved in this operation and two suspects were arrested and detained. The suspects and the marijuana plants were taken to Gerehu police station.
