33 new COVID-19 cases reported on Saturday June 19, has now increased the total number of confirmed cases to 17,013. The 33 new cases were reported in four provinces. Eastern Highlands recorded the largest number with 12 cases followed by Southern Highlands with eight, Simbu with seven and East New Britain Province with six cases. Of the 33 cases reported 20 are males and 13 females. Their ages range from 18 to 68 years. Rellie Kaputin took a huge leap towards securing the single place available for PNG in the Athletic competition in the Tokyo Olympics with a seasons best long jump of 6.42 metres in her second attempt at the Festival of Athletics in Townsville on Saturday. The National Airports Corporation (NAC) wishes to advise the travelling public into and out of Tokua Airport in the East New Britain Province, that reconstruction works on the final 400m section of the airport’s runway pavement is currently underway. This has resulted in a shortened, runway length which at present can only accommodate Dash 8 aircrafts. The reconstruction works are being carried out due to pavement failures of previous works which were carried under unsuitable weather conditions.
