A sobbing Britney Spears lashed out at her father Wednesday for the second time in less than a month, saying she wants him out as the co-conservator of her estate and charged with abuse. “I want to press charges against my father today,” Spears told the court by phone, breaking down in tears at times. “I want an investigation into my dad.” Her comments Wednesday follow a hearing last month in which she told Judge Brenda Penny that she wanted to hire her own attorney to advocate on her behalf. There’s no such thing as a dead rubber in State of Origin. Not to Queensland. And there should be no such questioning of the Maroons culture in future in the view of captain Daly Cherry-Evans and coach Paul Green after their 20-18 game-three boilover on Wednesday night. As critics lined up to deliver their last rites, a desperate Maroons side finally came to life to sabotage NSW’s hopes of their first series sweep in 21 years. After leading 8-6 at half-time, Queensland held on for victory on the Gold Coast to inject some much-needed pride in the Maroons jersey with…
Paul Green was cagey about continuing as Queensland coach following Wednesday’s relieving Origin III win, preferring to keep the spotlight on his players. The first-year Maroons mentor entered the match under the pump after NSW romped to victory in games one and two but insisted during the week that he was “not worried about my future”. The QRL have an option to extend Green’s contract next year – and chairman Bruce Hatcher has said they intend to activate it – but the coach batted away questions about his job post-match. “Now’s not the time to be making any sort of…
A ground breaking ceremony took place recently at the Afore Station in the Ijivitari District of Northern Province to launch the 1st phase of a road construction project by Member for Ijivitari Richard Masere and Minister for Agriculture and Livestock, John Simon. “Roads have been a vital link between rural and urban settings and have made the flow of service delivery to the rural areas more efficient,” said Mr Masere. However, he said this has not been the case for most rural areas in PNG where roads are deteriorating and service delivery to most parts of the rural areas have…
Attack will be the best form of defence for Queensland in State of Origin game three after the Maroons vowed to come out swinging in a bid to avoid suffering their first series whitewash in 21 years. Captain Daly Cherry-Evans admitted the Maroons still had plenty of work to do on their defence after NSW’s scoring juggernaut won the first two games with a remarkable 76-6 aggregate. But Cherry-Evans believed their attack may prove the key to an Origin III upset. The Maroons playmaker said a fast start was crucial and, armed with a backline boasting debutant speedster Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow,…
The EU-STREIT PNG Programme, further to its endeavour to empower families, women, and youths along cocoa and vanilla value chains, conducted a 12-day Technical Assistance (TA) mission starting from mid-June 2021, reaching out to the agriculture-dependent communities in the hinterlands of the West Sepik Province.
