A stand off outside the Sir John Guise Stadium led to a violent attack in which supporters of rival candidates clashed with bush knives and other offensive weapons. The Police Investigative Task Force for the 2022 National General Election will soon arrest supporters and candidates involved in causing destruction and disruption to the counting for the Markham and Kabwum Open seats. Morobe Provincial Police Commander Superintendent Jacob Singura said the criminal acts resulted in the suspension of counting for these two electorates. The three patients were transferred to PMGH by SJA team. Two males; a 25 year old & 13 year and a 22 year old female. They had consumed internal organs (Liver/ Intestines, etc…) of a large pufferfish. All three patients had paralysis and difficulty breathing on arrival and assessment at the PMGH Emergency Department. They were immediately artificially Ventilated and eventually transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for ongoing mechanical ventilation and critical care.
