More than 2, 000 rural people in the isolated Mount Koiari area in the Kokoda Track region will now have access to basic health and medical services thanks to the recent completion of the renovated Kagi aid post. The lack of adequate educational facilities in the Western Province is one of the factors contributing to the decline in the number of Western Province students enrolled in the nation’s postsecondary institutions. The winning design for the 50th Independence Anniversary logo has been accepted and is presently being formalized for usage. Samuel Uge, who entered the 50th Independence Anniversary Logo concept Competition earlier this year in June, created the concept that served as the basis for the finished logo.
