Department of Prime Minister and National Executive Council Secretary Ivan Pomaleu, OBE last night said that any information pertaining to the National General Elections 2022 is the responsibility of the Electoral Commissioner.

Secretary Pomaleu said this following information published on social media claiming that the Issuing of Writs has been deferred to May 18.

“While I Chair the Inter-Departmental Election Committee, any substantive information pertaining to the National General Elections 2022 is the responsibility of the Electoral Commissioner and or the Prime Minister if necessary.

“I further confirm that I have not issued a statement or confirmation of any sort relating to election 2022 scheduling, nor am I privy to any official discussions on this matter,” he said.

Secretary Pomaleu urged all citizens to refrain from releasing or publishing misleading information to the general public as this has serious implications.
