SNS Tech subsequently hires its first 3 cohort after successfully completing their inaugural internship program.
Launched in December 2024, the program aimed to provide recent graduates namely Kristina Kovea, Monty Trei, and Gabriel Isikiel with practical experience and professional development.
Initially, the program was slated for a longer duration, but it accelerated due to the interns’ exceptional performance and the company’s growing project demands.
Highlighting the interns’ exceptional performance, Chief Executive Officer and Technological Officer Samson Korawali shared.
“SNS Tech’s internship program, focused on digital communications, IT support, and digital transformation, was accelerated from six to three months due to the interns’ rapid contributions. Their impact on project execution and operational capacity will lead to this model’s replication in future intakes, ensuring a steady flow of skilled talent.”
Throughout the internship, the cohort participated in real-world projects, collaborating across various departments, including project management and technical execution.
This hands-on approach allowed them to gain a thorough understanding of the company’s operations.
Sharing her experience is Kristina Kovea who is now the Digital Communication Officer.
“My internship at SNS Tech was a transformative experience that provided a deep understanding of strategic digital marketing and corporate communications. I gained valuable skills in social media strategy, visual storytelling, and user-centric website development. Beyond the technical skills, I developed analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities, learning the importance of data-driven decisions and continuous learning. This internship has been a powerful launchpad for my professional journey, solidifying my passion for digital marketing and equipping me with the confidence to excel,” said Kovea.
Monty Trei, who is now employed as the IT Support Officer, also took some time to share his experience.
“During my internship, I gained hands-on experience with modern IT systems, including cloud platforms and network security. I also worked on important client projects, such as digital transformation and IT audits. These experiences improved my technical skills and taught me how to communicate effectively with clients and work well under pressure.”
Lastly Gabriel Isikiel who is also being successfully employed as an IT Support Officer, shared his experience as well.
“The internship at SNS Tech was highly impactful, offering practical skills in cloud technology and technical support. Beyond technical knowledge, I gained important insights into professional conduct, client communication, and teamwork. The mentorship and support I received were instrumental in my professional growth, and I’m eager to apply these learnings in my full-time role to contribute to the company’s success,” Isikiel said.
Their hard work led to full-time employment offers, which they accepted, SNS Head of Business and Operations Gerard Habitein praised the interns for their dedication.
“The unpaid internship has proven to be a success. This program has reinforced our commitment to fostering young talent. Their dedication and rapid learning were instrumental in meeting our clients’ needs, and they quickly became valuable contributors to our team. We’ve gained valuable insights into structuring future internships to ensure they benefit both the interns and our company,” said Mr. Habitein.
SNS Tech plans to continue this internship program as a key component of its talent development strategy, aiming to build a diverse and skilled workforce, contributing to nation building by developing local talent within Papua New Guinea by growing them in the Information and Communications technology (ICT) sector.
