A man is fighting for his life at the Gerehu General Hospital after receiving a stab wound in the chest following an argument with drunkards at the main entrance of the Kennedy Estate outside Port Moresby.
The 34 year old victim from Eastern Highlands Province while on his way to work was stabbed after a vulgar exchange with a group of men believed to be from the Hela.
This led to a retaliation by the victim’s relatives, who took up arms and a clash ensued.
Thus far there have been no other reported casualties.
Kennedy Estate, 15 minutes out of the city is home to hundreds of city residents; and is now calm with some order restored.
PNG HAUSBUNG have spoken with the Gordons police who said reports of the clash have reached them and they are now in talks to arrange a mediation between both groups involved in this clash in an attempt to maintain peace.
