This was a 60-year-old male who was detected in Jiwaka and died in the Western Highlands province on Sunday.
Also, 192 cases were also reported in the last 24hrs bringing the countries total to 8, 634.
The cases were reported in 12 provinces. 42 in NCD, 76 in WHP, 23 in WP, 22 in Morobe, 14 in WNB, 4 in Central, 4 in Jiwaka, 3 in SHP, 1 in Simbu, 1 in Madang, 1 in Hela, and 1 in EHP.
