Pope Francis arrived at Sir John Guise Stadium this morning at approximately 9:30am, greeting the enthusiastic crowd of young people swarming the stands and track. PNG Catholic Youth representatives took to the stage, speaking on the challenges faced by the young people, highlighting problems such as unemployment, broken families, abuse and poverty. "These issues prevent our young people from living their hopes and dreams." "We believe our purpose on this earth is to live in obedience to the Father, as Jesus did." Prior to his arrival the stadium erupted in joyous singing and dancing, as young people praised and worshipped God.
