Training has commenced for all team members including familiarization of the training and competition venues.

Chef de Mission Michael Henao and his General Management Team are satisfied with the level of preparation of these Commonwealth Games, and thanked the Organizing Committee “for all their efforts thus far.”

“The support from Papua New Guineans at home and abroad has been truly remarkable, boosting the confidence of our athletes who have been preparing for these Games for months upon months," said Mr Henao. He reminded Papua New Guineans to “keep supporting our 33 athletes via social and other media as they fly the Bird of Paradise at the Commonwealth Games.”
