Simbu Police arrested and charged a suspect for the alleged theft of two Lucas Mills.
The Police Fraud Squad Members gathered all the evidence and investigated the incident and soon apprehended the suspect, where he was formally charged for stealing two Lucas Mills that were the property of the Salt Nomane Karamui District Development Authority in Simbu province.
The Simbu Provincial Police Commander (PPC), Superintendent, Mazuc Rubiang confirmed that the suspect was arrested but released on K1,500.00 police bail.
PPC Rubiang stated that the incident occurred between June 30th and December 30th, 2021, at Goroka Farmset. After a police investigation, the suspect was arrested and charged on January 27th, 2025.
According to PPC Rubiang the suspect responsible for the stolen Lucas Mills, who will not be named, is believed to be a son of a member of Parliament.
