A sausage sizzle fundraiser was held recently within the vicinity of the Pacific Palms Property at Ahuia Street Gordon’s and will continue to be held every Friday.
This is to help support the Athletes of Team PNG for the Tokyo Olympic games in Japan this year.
Secretary General of the PNG Olympic Committee, Auvita Rapilla said that they are grateful for this initiative from Media Partners Ltd with the sausage sizzle.
Mrs Rapilla further said that Team PNG is our team, they represent the country and are our flag carriers in the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, and Pacific Games and they are our national pride so we do our bit to support our Athletes where we can assist in any way to help them achieve this goal and represent our country.
The game this year is the Tokyo Olympics and there is a targeted squad that is preparing and a few more Athletes also need to try their best to qualify for the games.
After being postponed last year due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Tokyo Olympics have been rescheduled to begin on July the 23rd and run will run through to the August the 8th 2021.
“I know it has been difficult with the COVID-19 pandemic and the challenges that come with it but the Athletes are doing the best as they can under the circumstances to prepare for these games so we are doing everything we can with the support of our sponsors and partners to raise the funds to send off Team PNG.”
The sausage sizzle fundraising will take place every Friday and the hot dogs are going for K5.
With just K15, you can get a Hot Dog, a can of soft drink and a Team PNG vehicle bumper sticker.
