Polling has just started for Team 25/Ward 7 for the Moresby North West By Election.
This is for people living in the Murray Barracks and surrounding areas.
Presiding officer, Nelson Moffe gave the opening remarks to the people that gathered to cast their votes and had them hold a minutes silence in Memory of the Late Sir Mekere Morauta before having the officials announce the serial numbers of the ballot papers as well as the outer seal serial numbers for the ballot boxes.
Meanwhile, strict COVID-19 measures are being followed with voters encouraged to practice social distancing, hand sanitizing and temperatures taken by the polling officials onsite.
