Papua New Guinea has recorded 91 new COVID-19 cases last week, increasing the total number of cases to 15,133.
The cases were reported in six provinces in which East New Britain reported the highest of 57 cases. West New Britain reported 17 new cases, Madang nine cases, National Capital District four whilst Morobe and Jiwaka reported two cases each.
Of the 91 cases recorded, 58 were males and 33 were females. Their ages range between four to 69 years. At the time of testing, 75 cases were showing symptoms of COVID-19.
The country’s COVID-19 cases now stands at 15,133 with 154 known deaths.A total of 14,108 recoveries have been recorded.
All 22 provinces including the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (AROB) have reported cases.
Globally, the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 has reached 165,839,381 including 651,684 new cases last week. The death toll is at 3,444,420 including 13,032 new deaths in the last 24 hours.
