Papua New Guinea has recorded 35 new COVID-19 cases this week, increasing the total number of cases to 15,222.
The cases were reported in six provinces with Morobe reporting the highest of 16 cases.
New Ireland reported seven cases, National Capital District and Southern Highlands reported four cases each, Western Highlands three and Hela a single case.
Of the 35 cases recorded, 28 were males and seven were females. Their ages range between 16 to 64 years. At the time of testing, 19 cases were showing symptoms of COVID-19.
The country’s COVID-19 cases now stand at 15,222 with 156 known deaths. A total of 14,183 recoveries have been recorded.
To date, a total of 111, 917 people have been tested for COVID-19. All 22 provinces including the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (AROB) have reported cases.
Globally, the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 has reached 165,782,943 including 612,253 new cases reported in the last 24 hours. The death toll is at 3,437,569 including 12,476 new deaths in the last 24 hours.
