PNG Ports Limited has successfully established its first Gender Smart Safety (GSS) Taskforce.
PNG Ports stated that this reaffirms their commitment to providing a safer and healthier work environment for all employees.
“The GSS taskforce is the result of the successful completion of the inaugural GSS training conducted in Port Moresby early this month.
The training has equipped staff with skills and knowledge to effectively address gender-related safety concerns in the workplace and support the development of safety policies that tackle both psychological and physical risks,” PNG Ports said.
PNG Ports added that the training was facilitated by the PNG Business Coalition For Women (BCFW) and will be rolled out throughout the port network.
“We will also be conducting a Gender Equity and Social Inclusion Workshop and Disability Tool Training soon. These initiatives complement PNG Ports’ values of empowerment, respect, teamwork and safety,” PNG Ports said.
