PNG singer and songwriter Danielle has been crowned Pacific Break’s 2022 winner, the first female artist to take out the top prize in the competition’s history.
This year’s judges unanimously awarded the prize to her song Fight which tells the story of West Papuans’ fight for freedom.
“I wasn’t expecting it,” Danielle said when she found out she won.
“It means so much to me because it’s been a really hard road.”
