Pikinini Swim, a recently established swimming school in Port Moresby, will be having their first ever ‘Learn To Swim’ sessions for school aged kids over the next school holidays.
Swimming is a basic life skill and Pikinini Swim intends to make swimming lessons easily accessible to everyday Papua New Guineans, by offering affordable swimming lessons, not just for children in Port Moresby, but to anyone else who may be interested.
Headed by Mr Lambert Vure, who is a professional swimmer and trainer himself, the Pikinini Swim School is offering swimming lessons at K40 per child, per session, for their holiday program.
“Pikinini Swim has two other certified swimming instructors Hellen Joseph and Gilbert Camillus, including myself, who are multi-skilled and have worked in different industries and together, we have a collective swimming and training experience of 30 years,” said Mr Vure.
“We have registered 6 children so far for our ‘Learn to Swim’ holiday session and there has been a growing interest and positive feedback from people in Port Moresby in regard to the ‘Learn to Swim’ session so we will be signing on more children soon,” Mr. Vure added.
“As for our facilities, we will be utilizing the Tuhava Town’s 25m pool to have our swimming sessions with the children.”
“Swimming is a necessity in life and everyone needs this skill to feel comfortable in water,” said Lambert Vure,” Lambert said.
Tuhava Town is a 15-minute drive out of the Nation’s Capital and the Pikinini Swim School is inviting parents of school aged children to sign up for this holiday swimming sessions with an opportunity to take part in interschool swimming competitions as well.
Pikinini Swim is devoted to giving back to the community by way of providing affordable swimming lessons and would welcome any sponsors who are willing to support the cause as well.
