The Lae Tennis Club (LTC) is excited to announce the PANAMEX LAE TENNIS OPEN 2024, happening over the King's Birthday long weekend from June 14 to 17, 2024. This top tennis event will take place at the Lae Golf Club, thanks to the generous support from our naming sponsor, PANAMEX PACIFIC (PNG) LTD. They have donated an impressive K30, 000.00 for this year’s tournament, continuing their support for the third year in a row. Their help has been crucial for growing tennis in Lae. The tournament will have six categories: OPEN, WOMEN'S OPEN, U19 BOYS, U19 GIRLS, MASTERS 50+, and OPEN DOUBLES. Each category will include a Main Draw and a Plate Draw for those who lose their first match. Matches will start on Friday evening, continue from morning to evening on Saturday and Sunday, and finish with the Finals on Monday afternoon. Players can join up to three events. The fees are K10 for juniors, and for adults, K50 for the first event, K30 for the second, and K20 for the third. The registration deadline is Friday, May 31, 2024. Participants can email their forms to laetennisclubpng@gmail.com or give them to any LTC Committee member. LTC will use TOURNAMENT SOFTWARE again, with support from PNG Tennis, to manage and provide real-time updates of all draws and matches online. We expect players from Lae, Port Moresby, Goroka, and other areas. Last year’s event featured top players from PNG’s international tournaments and legends from the 80s and 90s, as well as many talented junior players.
