The Pacific Island leaders arrived this afternoon in Port Moresby city from Honiara, Solomon Islands after attending the PIF Leaders’ Summit, to take part and witness Papua New Guinea’s 50th anniversary of independence celebrations.
The Island leaders were received at 2:30pm at the APEC Terminal with a warm welcome from Port Moresby’s Community cultural groups, showcasing a glimpse of Papua New Guineas Cultural Heritage.
The visiting Island leaders were formally greeted and escorted immediately stepping off the plane before entering the Terminal. NCD Governor Powes Parkop, Minister for Foreign Affairs Justin Tkatchenko and other delegates were at the terminal to receive them.
Prime Minister James Marape also graced the visitor’s arrival following their grand welcome performance into the APEC Terminal.
The visiting Island leaders swiftly took to the city and will be accommodated to share the celebrations of the nation’s upcoming 50th Independence Anniversary celebration.
