The countdown for the PNG Orchids against Vaine Moana match this afternoon is on with the Orchids vowing to compete with or without the ball.
Coach Ben Jefferies stated that the message circulating among the girls right now is to compete and that is what they will be focused on.
Playing on home soil, Jefferies stated that they obviously want to get the win for the crowd. At the Moment, Jefferies said they have a few injuries that they need to work on to see if they can play, but overall, he’s happy with the selection.
“We’re not here to risk players for the long term. We want longevity out of our players and the majority of this group are young.”
He said due to this, there is a long future ahead of them and will be looking to make sure they do not risk any injuries.
Elsie Albert was initially feared to have had an injury earlier this week, but according to coach Jeffries, she was cleared to play and will be lining up in the front row along with Rosewita Kapo and Gloria Kaupa.
