Students in New Ireland Province haven’t been missing out on their school lessons during this isolation strategy period.
“According to the Circular by the Education Minister and I also sent out a provincial circular to all schools for teachers to make sure they are preparing work for their students from home on a weekly basis.”
This is what the Provincial Education Advisor, Mr Apelis Benson said during an interview with this newsroom.
“All our school vehicles and boats are travelling to main centres and distributing the students’school work.”
“We are also encouraging students that are living around town that have access to radio and TV to listen in and watch the school broadcast programs.”
Mr Benson added that once term 2 begins on April 19, 2021, students will go straight into the term 2 lessons.
Schools can have extra classes in the evenings especially for those sitting for the National Exams at the end of the year.
He further added that this time last year, schools had to operate with COVID-19 protocols in place so once term 2 begins, they already have plans on having shift classes.
Meanwhile, Mr Benson has appointed a team to carry out inspections in all the schools in the province to make sure that schools are preparing for Term 2.
Schools must provide hand sanitizers and arrange the classrooms so there is social distancing.
