The New Ireland Governors School Essay Competition is now open for students from grades four to grade twelve attending schools in the New Ireland Province.
The Essay Competition is an initiative of the New Ireland Governor, Sir Julius Chan.
“Each year, relevant and intriguing essay questions are formulated by selected teachers from across schools in New Ireland.”
“There are four categories in the essay competition, Lower Primary, Upper Primary, High School and Secondary,” said the CEO of Education, Mr Apelis Benson.
The Competition coincides with the New Ireland Day Celebration each year and best essays from the competition will be selected and announced and authors get to share their essays during the celebrations.
“The essay competition questions have tried to capture the issues of government and politics, service delivery, functions of society and challenges facing living and society.”
He urged all eligible students to take part in this essay competition.
He further added that all students from both public and private schools are eligible to take part.
The competition closes on July 20th, 2021.
