National Capital District (NCD) Metropolitan Superintendent Silva Sika urges NCD Residents to uphold “Respect” to maintain a peaceful festive season in Port Moresby.
Met. Supt. Sika stressed this in a recent statement to the PNG Hausbung, stating that respect is a crucial factor to a peaceful festive celebration.
Sika emphasized the spirit of unity and mutual respect demonstrated during Christmas was truly commendable, reflecting the values we hold dear as a community.
He urges citizens to carry forward this spirit of respect into the upcoming New Year celebrations, emphasizing that a united effort is crucial for fostering a secure and thriving NCD.
As the region prepares to welcome 2025, Sika appealed to all residents to celebrate responsibly, respect the rule of law, and remain vigilant. He reminded the public that law enforcement officers would continue to be on high alert to ensure safety.
“Let us begin 2025 with the same commitment to peace and respect that defined this Christmas. Together, we can create a brighter, safer future for our communities,” Sika concluded.
In addition, Sika commended residents for maintaining peace and order during the 2024 Christmas festivities. He expressed gratitude for the collective efforts of citizens, law enforcement officers, and community leaders in ensuring a safe and joyous Christmas.
Police in NCD remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting and serving the community.
