Namatanai MP and Forests Minister Walter D Schnaubelt has made an offer for reconciliation with New Ireland Governor Sir Julius Chan.
Mr Schnaubelt who is also Forests Minister made the offer at the Kavieng Airport on Friday in response to the women in Kavieng District who protested on his arrival demanding that the three MPs including Treasurer and Kavieng MP Ian Ling-Stuckey reconcile and work together for the good of the province.
Minister Schbaubelt said he had no problem with the reconciliation.
“I’m happy to sit with Minister Ling-Stuckey and Governor Sir Julius for a reconciliation ceremony.”
“Let me place it here on record, I have offered reconciliation and peace to Sir Julius many times but he refused and he continues to use excuses that I don’t want to reconcile with him.”
“This is not my problem, let me declare it one more time here in public for my honorable Governor.”
“You name the place and time and I will be there with my pig and my misse (shell money).”
“Come let’s reconcile no problem, you call the date and venue because you are the leader of the Hausboi, so give me the order and I will be there,” Minister Schnaubelt said.
“Enough of these deceitful behaviours, it’s unbecoming of a Former Prime Minister and now Governor of New Ireland Province to continue confusing our people telling them I have refused his offer to reconcile which is false and he knows that too.”
“I’m ready to reconcile with you so come let’s put the interest of our people of New Ireland, Kavieng and Namatanai Districts first in our decisions as leaders and reconcile like you said you always wanted to in public.
“That’s my position and I’m declaring it now, send me the invitation and I’ll be there,” Minister Schnaubelt said.
