MULTI-PURPOSE HALL OPENS, A NEW ERA FOR HEALTH EDUCATION

On Friday the 14th of November 2025, the School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS) officially opened the multi-Purpose Hall marking a milestone in Papua New Guinea’s commitment to strengthening health education and empowering future professionals.

This purpose-built facility will serve as a central venue for student learning, academic forums, professional development, and major institutional events, including graduations, conferences, and community health outreach.

It is designed to foster collaboration, leadership, and innovation among the next generation of health workers.

The Hall’s opening coincides with the establishment of the Papua New Guinea University of Medicine and Health Sciences, following the unanimous passage of the PNGUMHS Act 2025.
