“We are looking forward to working with more local PNG designers to portray their PNG colours and designs in the near future from designing and planning stage to the final product”, said Yogesh.
Yogesh said it took a lot of critical thinking in order to see the final outcome and they are proud to be able to witness this launch. He said it was definitely a tough journey with the pandemic; however, great things come from hard work and patience.
On behalf of designer Cynthia who currently is out of the country, her cousin brother Neil Daniel who has been working with the family business for the past 25 years and played a big role in her clothing brand said that the Chauka Yah clothing brand focuses on the tagline ‘Loud & Proud’ typical of a Manusian and in which every unique design means that every customer should live the loud and proud lifestyle and be true to themselves.
The Chauka Yah clothing range contains Men’s Shirts, Ladies High-Low Tops, Ladies Straps, Kaftans and ladies short and long Kaftans and we look forward for more designs and ranges in the near future.
As part of this launch, Chauka Yah and Jacks of PNG had taken up the initiative to donate hand sanitizers and face masks to the Lorengau Hospital and the Children’s Ward at the Port Moresby General Hospital for this current pandemic.
In addition to that, the Chauka Yah brand and Jacks PNG will give 50% of the sales royalties to the rural communities in Manus province.
Upon receiving the donations, Dr Gwenda Anga, Paediatric at the Port Moresby General Hospital Children’s Ward thanked Cynthia for the donations and wished Cynthia the very best in her clothing label and her future plans.
Mr Daniel said "we are proud to launch this new local brand and we wish that everyone will support this brand towards the Chauka Yah brand and I hope that you will all purchase Chauka Yah outfits so you will feel loud and proud."
The Chauka Yah clothing are available and will be sold at the Jacks of PNG outlet in Lae City, here at Vision City and Waigani Centralin Port Moresby.
