Morobe Provincial Government has raised a series of concerns over the services of village recorders in the districts.
Provincial Minister for Physical Planning and Monitoring Kunum Ameke said due to the non-availability of village recorders, there is no available database for the provincial government to be able to identify real statistics on the ground to deliver much needed basic services beneficial to the population in any particular area.
Due to nil existence of village recorders in the province, especially at the district level, the provincial government has no proper records on the number of people in an area and how much services is needed.
Mr. Ameke has therefore challenged the government to urgently engage village recorders to effectively take part in the delivery of services and play their roles in contributing to the development of the province in the future.
