Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited (KPHL) will host its annual Charity Golf Challenge to raise funds to once again purchase cancer treatment drugs at the Lae Golf Club, tomorrow on Friday 28th February 2025.
Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited’s Executive General Manager Corporate Affairs, Luke Liria, said the event is to support the National Cancer Services Unit at the ANGAU Memorial Hospital in Lae.
“Patients who are diagnosed at the Cancer Unit need medication for treatment and we understand that there are times when supplies of chemotherapy drugs are low, so proceeds of our golf tournament are purposely used to address that scenario.”
Liria stated that their annual Charity Golf Challenge aims to support the treatment for Cancer Unit patients at ANGAU Memorial Hospital in Lae by raising funds to purchase much-needed chemotherapy drugs.
Furthermore, Mr. Liria stressed that last year’s charity golf event raised over K240,000 with participation from over 40 teams and anticipates similar support this year, with teams coming from Port Moresby and the Highlands.
Kumul Petroleum Holdings hosts this annual event in February to coincide with World Cancer Day, bringing corporate organizations together for a worthy cause, to support cancer awareness and raise funds.
In addition to the Lae Charity Golf Challenge, KPHL has supported the installation of radiation therapy equipment, including a brachytherapy unit, at the National Cancer Service Unit at ANGAU Memorial Hospital last year.
