The KCK Rigo Rice Cup Leg-1 Grand Final Curtain Raiser match on Sunday delivered an intense clash where the Koita Cowboys secured a commanding 4-0 victory over Tare Nation in a very tight game.
Fans flooded the venue and were treated to a thrilling display of tactical rugby and unwavering defense in the 70-minute encounter.
The first half saw Koita Cowboys Ian Gaita breaking the deadlock with a decisive try, earning four points for his team.
The second half maintained intense defensive stronghold from the Tare Nation and Koita Cowboys. Both sides showed resilience in scrum battles, with Koita Cowboys winning two and Tare Nation claiming three. However, neither side managed to secure a try or conversion in the remaining 35 minutes.
Despite three penalties and two scrum wins, the Cowboys couldn’t add further to their tally, while Tare Nation, despite winning five penalties and two scrums, failed to convert their opportunities into points. The half concluded with the Cowboys leading 4-0.
The Cowboys’ disciplined defense and strategic plays ensured their victory, earning them the K3,000 runner-up cash prize.
