As the Papua New Guinea PM's XIII fell to Australia PM's XIII today, while the Jnr Kumuls secured a win and the PNG Orchids and Jnr Orchids suffered defeats, John “The Ring Monster” Ume delivered a victory for Papua New Guinea in New Zealand.

Ume defeated Hamza Perwaisy to become the new BX-9 Interim Welterweight Champion at Eventfinda Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand.

Ume will face Riley Allan for the official BX-9 Welterweight title in early 2027.
