Gulf Provincial Police Commander Jeffery Lemb has confirmed that there operations for this festive season has begun and will be tight within the province.
According to the police boss, the festive season operations have two phases which police on the ground will be working in.
The first phase which is the awareness campaign is based on promoting peace and harmony within rural communities and the consequences of their actions.
The second phase will see dispatched police personnel conducting operations during the peak festive period to ensure public safety.
Highway patrol during this festive season in the province will be rolled out by police to ensure any suspicious activities are monitored and looked into, given recent drug trafficking within the borders of the province.
PPC Lemb is calling out to all communities to come forward and report any illegal activities or nuisance that is unacceptable during this festive season.
He further added a caution to the people using the main waterways as their mode of transport to take extra precaution and stay in tune for weather forecasts before travelling.
The current state of the province is contained with no major problems and the police within the province aim to keep it that way.
