The Gerehu Stage-2 Haulyn Market (GS2HM) in Port Moresby city remains positive following their participation in the recent 2024 National Capital District (NCD) Women’s Expo and Summit from the 9-13th of November at the Sir John Guise Stadium.
The GS2HM SME is satisfied after stepping into a highly recognized event in NCD for two (2) days including the Summit on Sunday 10th, after just two months of being registered as an SME in October 2024.
The GS2HM, which consists of more than thirty (30) street vendors from the same community including mothers and youth groups, recently had a boost in morale following their participation in the NCD Women’s Expo and Summit.
GS2HM Market Coordinator and Events Manager, Mr. Brian Auga expressed to PNG HAUSBUNG the excitement and pleasure they experienced in showcasing local products from GS2 on a larger marketing scale.
“The Expo was great experience especially for newbie women members entering the marketing space. It provided exposure for products and services to be publicized on a highly recognized platform,” said Mr. Auga.
Following their participation in the Expo, five women members from GS2HM also attended the NCD Women’s Summit on Sunday.
The five women representatives were delighted to represent their community in constructive discussions related to women issues during the Summit.
Mr. Auga added that the GS2 Hauslyn Market’s initiative focuses on bringing together all selected GS2 household vendors into one market, to showcase a wide range of products and services on one table.
The products include handmade baskets, blouses, necklaces, paintings, drawings, crafts and many more.
GS2 Hauslyn Market is now focusing on later conducting monthly market at GS2 roundabout near the children’s park after their upcoming third community market attempt planned for December 3rd, 2024.
